Musical spectacle at the Ziggo Dome

On October 27, the anniversary year of Amsterdam 750 will kick off in grand style at the Ziggo Dome. This opening concert is a collaboration between Metropole Orkest, ISH Dance Collective, ZO! Gospel Choir and executive producer Making Waves, commissioned by the municipality of Amsterdam.
The show is a musical interpretation of Amsterdam’s history, telling the story of the city with golden oldies and popular music of today, from pop to house and from ‘smartlappen’ to hip hop. Various Dutch artists André Hazes, René Froger, S10, Sophie Straat, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Berget Lewis, Donnie and Edsilia Rombley will share the stage with the orchestra. With the opening concert, which will be broadcasted live, the celebrating capital invites the whole of the Netherlands to kick off the anniversary year.
In addition to lots of music, singing and dancing, there will be cabaret by comedian Rayen Panday and cabaret duo Van der Laan & Woe. Besides this, Amsterdam is also depicted as a sports city with unique archive images and recordings by filmmaker Jerom Fischer. In short, a versatile and unique show for a diverse audience.
