Snarky Puppy

LiveRecords

Snarky Puppy, where do we even start? We first crossed paths when the band was still at the beginning of that journey. After a masterclass at a conservatory in Rotterdam, our artistic producer Friederike made the initial connection. There was some tentative talk about doing ‘something’ together one day. As it turned out, that was the start of a long friendship.

The band quickly felt at home in the Netherlands. And gradually built a close bond with the Metropole, Jules Buckley, Jochen Neuffer and Sam Gale. To this day, a game of tennis is pretty much guaranteed whenever we’re on the road together, and they know the orchestra and staff by name. That friendship eventually resulted in Sylva (2015), an album with the Metropole Orkest that won a Grammy and led to a series of unforgettable concerts. But some collaborations simply demand a sequel. Ten years later came Somni (2025), a project that has since travelled to stages across the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. And who knows where the adventure will lead next. For now, we’re keeping our fingers crossed: Somni has been submitted for a Grammy.
