In 2019, Louis Cole sent Jules Buckley an email with the subject line: ‘Hey Jules, it’s Louis Cole.’ In it, he asked whether the Metropole Orkest would be interested in collaborating because, as he put it, ‘It’s my dream to do my music with a live orchestra someday, and you guys are the coolest orchestra around.’ We were already well aware of Louis and his other project, KNOWER, so saying yes was an easy decision. Since then, we’ve shared countless unforgettable concerts, released an album together, and built a collaboration overflowing with joy, creativity, and humour.

While preparing for our very first show together, Louis had one additional request: could the entire orchestra perform in skeleton suits? The idea initially caused a few raised eyebrows among the musicians, but before long everyone was won over. These days, the orchestra can hardly wait to put the skeleton suits back on. Long live Louis Cole!
