After our theatre tour with duo Frans Pollux and Lex Uiting sold out within minutes across eight venues in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, an initiative was launched to gauge interest in one final, large-scale show with the duo from Venlo. Amsterdam was chosen as the host city, although the venue had yet to be determined. Fans could purchase an ‘Amsterdam Ticket’ by paying a €10 deposit. Depending on the number of Amsterdam Tickets sold, the final venue would be selected: the Concertgebouw, AFAS Live, or the Ziggo Dome. Due to overwhelming demand, the choice quickly fell on the Ziggo Dome.
The fact that it all became reality still feels incredible. And what an unforgettable celebration it was! With carnival princes, Chantal Janzen, confetti, and an earlier start time to ensure the buses full of Limburgers could get home on time, all of Amsterdam revolved around the South for one night.
