Guitar icon and contemporary composer Steve Vai and the Metropole Orkest will present an exclusive live performance of Vai’s compositions for orchestra and rock band. The show will include previews of a future release of new Vai/Metropole studio recordings!
Under the baton of Finnish conductor Jukka Iisakkila, they will perform a programme featuring newly orchestrated interpretations of Vai’s best-known compositions, including several works that have never before been performed live. This concert marks a new chapter in a collaboration spanning more than two decades.
The collaboration between Steve Vai and the Metropole Orkest began in 2000 and has since resulted in concerts and collaborative recording projects. Their acclaimed performance at the BRIDGE Guitar Festival in 2023 once again demonstrated the remarkable musical chemistry between Vai and the orchestra.
And the story continues. Together, they create a concert in which meticulously crafted arrangements and the freedom of improvisation complement and elevate one another. Featuring fresh interpretations of iconic works, brand-new repertoire, and more than twenty-five years of shared musical history, this performance promises a unique musical encounter between one of the greatest guitarists of his generation and the world-renowned Metropole Orkest.
