Following the success of the Grammy-winning Sylva, Snarky Puppy, the Metropole Orkest and conductor Jules Buckley reunite, this time on the stage of Umbria Jazz in Perugia. During the concert, newly recorded music will be performed live for the first time.
Somni is an immersive musical journey in which Snarky Puppy’s signature grooves merge seamlessly with the rich, cinematic orchestrations of the Metropole Orkest. Under the direction of Jules Buckley, new work by bandleader and composer Michael League comes vividly to life. Blurring the boundaries between jazz, classical, funk and world music, this collaboration draws the audience in from the very first note.

Snarky Puppy is a Grammy-winning ensemble led by bassist and composer Michael League. The band has won five Grammy Awards, including for Sylva (with the Metropole Orkest), Culcha Vulcha, Live at the Royal Albert Hall and Empire Central, and previously received a Grammy for Best R&B Performance for Something with Lalah Hathaway. With a genre-defying sound that blends jazz and funk with global influences, Snarky Puppy continues to captivate audiences and critics worldwide.
