Conducted by: Miho Hazama
Japanese pianist and composer Hiromi is one of the most spectacular musicians of her generation. With seemingly boundless energy, she moves effortlessly between jazz, fusion, rock, classical music and funk—always driven by virtuosity and sheer joy of playing. Her music is explosive, melodic and full of surprises, as impressive as it is accessible.
At just 17 years old, Hiromi was already performing with jazz and fusion legends such as Chick Corea. She went on to become a global phenomenon, winning numerous awards including a GRAMMY (with Stanley Clarke) and the Japanese Academy Award for Best Music for the film Blue Giant. She also represented Japan musically during the Tokyo Olympic Games.
On her latest album Sonicwonderland, Hiromi combines piano, synthesizers and orchestral sound worlds into a powerful, cinematic sonic experience. Together with the Metropole Orkest, condcted by Miho Hazama, this promises to be a dynamic and immersive performance in which jazz and symphonic power amplify one another.
and contribute to educational projects and the preservation of Dutch heritage.
