Album Emilie-Claire Barlow at #1 in Canada
In the first week of June we had Canadian singer Emilie-Claire Barlow and producer Steve Webster in our studios to help her record orchestral parts for her album ‘Clear Day’. An album that was to her as much an emotional journey as it was physical one. With the arrangements written in Mexico, the orchestra recorded in Amsterdam, Barlow’s band adding its parts in Toronto and some of the final vocals recorded before a small audience in Montreal.
It was an absolute pleasure to have her here and we were happy to receive the news that ‘Clear Day’ has reached the #1 position in the Canadian jazz charts on its release day!
Watch the album preview for Clear Day here.
Emilie-Claire documented most of the recording process with a small camera. Her time in Hilversum and Amsterdam is shown in chapter 3.
