This summer, South American music will take center stage with the Jong Metropole orchestra. The orchestra will be supplemented by specialists from the Latin music sphere who originate from the world music department of Codarts Rotterdam.

This time, the orchestra is under the direction of Portuguese-American conductor Jacomo Bairos. Residing in Lisbon, he has his own orchestra in Miami, the ‘Nu Deco Ensemble’. The repertoire of this ensemble encompasses the same genres as the Metropole Orchestra: anything but classical music!

During this program, the new composition by Camiel Jansen (winner of the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2023 for Jong Metropole) will also premiere.
