Gnawa Festival

Metropole Orkest dives into the world of the Gnawa, rich Moroccan repertoire of old spiritual, trance-inducing songs and rhythms. The world’s leading pop & jazz orchestra collaborates with the new generation of Gnawa artists: Karim Ziad, Mehdi Nassouli & Omri Mor. The drummer, multi-instrumentalist and pianist merge Gnawa, jazz and other worldly sounds on their new album ASSALA. Together with Metropole Orkest conducted by Tom Cohen, they will give extra depth to their music. Cohen is known for merging Arabic and Western music into spectacular orchestral productions.
