Metropole Orkest and ADE Celebrate 10 Years of Groundbreaking Collaboration

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. At the same time, the opening night at Melkweg marks a special milestone: ten years of collaboration between the Metropole Orkest, Melkweg and ADE. For this festive edition, the orchestra will be joined by visionary producer, artist and cultural architect Kybba on 21 October. Musical direction is led by conductor Simon Dobson.

Over the past years, the annual opening concert at Melkweg has grown into one of the most innovative and impressive highlights of ADE. Previous editions featured standout collaborations with, among others, Henrik Schwarz (2016), Jameszoo (2017), Colin Benders (2018), SOHN (2019), Weval (2021), Suzanne Ciani (2022), Tinlicker (2023), 50 Years of Dilla (2024) and DBN Gogo (2025).

This year, the Metropole Orkest explores a new musical horizon. Together with Kybba, the orchestra focuses on the energy and richness of dancehall, Afro and Caribbean music, once again creating a unique bridge between electronic music and orchestral innovation in the ADE opening concert
