After the tremendous success of our Grammy-winning collaboration Sylva, we joined forces once again for a project that is even more ambitious, grand and creative. Somni, Catalan for “dream,” has become exactly that: a dream project in which everything came together.
In January 2025, we recorded the album live during six unique sessions in Utrecht. The audience was literally seated among the musicians, right in the middle of the energy of the orchestra and the band. During these evenings, the completely new music that Michael League wrote especially for Somni was heard for the first time. The result is a blend of Snarky Puppy’s unmistakable groove and our own cinematic, full orchestral sound.
Michael League called Somni “the biggest and most ambitious project in our 21-year career.”
